Getting Started

Here is an overview about how our application process works and some information on what else you will need to do.

1. Complete the online application.

After reading the important information on this page, click continue at the bottom to begin the online application. You will be asked basic questions about yourself, your involvement on campus and about any certifications you may already have. Your progress cannot be saved, so please make sure you have time to complete the entire application at once. It takes about 10-15 minutes to complete. Once you have submitted your application, you will receive a confirmation email. No applications will be reviewed until the deadline has passed.

2. Attend a personal interview.

After the application deadline passes, you will receive an email regarding the next step in the process. You will need to complete a personal interview. Personal interviews last about 15 minutes and are conducted by our personnel supervisors. The goal of this interview is to get to know you a little better and give you a chance to show why you would be a good fit for SUA.

3. Attend a group interview.

Applicants may be selected to attend a group interview. This interview will not be in the traditional interview setting and will be much more interactive. The goal of this stage is to see how you work as both an individual and in a team setting.

4. Final selection.

The final selection will take into account all aspects of your application including the written component as well as your group and personal interview. If you are accepted, you will receive an email with some general information about the next step in the probationary process. If you are not accepted, you will also receive an email with an explanation of why we were unable to select you. Based on the way our organization operates, we can only accept around 10-20 members per semester. If this is the case, we encourage you to re-apply in the future.

Please Note: If accepted, you must complete a probationary phase before becoming a "full member" of the organization. During this phase, you will be expected to attend weekly training sessions, as well as spending a minimum of one hour per week in quarters interacting with the members. Please consider these time commitments before submitting your application.
