SUA Responds to DWI Drill
October 22, 2009In an event to bring publicity and attention to Alcohol Awareness Week, the Panhellenic Council organized a mock DWI that involved the cooperation of SUA, Public Safety and SU Fire Safety. SUA responded with two ambulances to the scene of a staged motor vehicle collision caused by drunk driving.
Over 100 students watched as SUA members Mike Armour, John Burke, Kris Ferara, Sean Lamb and Chris Jennison handled triage, patient care and transport of three "critical" patients. The patients, new SUA probationary members Sephora Findling and Molly Westbrook were used in the drill to add a sense of realism. Organized by Panhellenic Council executive member and SUA volunteer Kimberly Holley, the event was a great way to really send a message about the effects of drunk driving.
